When I think about summers as a kid, a few things come to mind. Giant slices of watermelon, freeze pops, and homemade pudding pops. I don't know why but something about being able to turn boxed pudding into frozen treats just seemed so revolutionary to me at age 7. So when I came across pudding pops online a few months ago, I was not only instantly brought back to those summer days but the creative in me wanted to find a way to innovate on them a bit.
So after racking my brain for easy Frankenstein treats, these little guys were born! The natural layering of the pudding works perfectly for creating his green face & dark "hair" and the addition of a few candy eyeballs just makes them even sweeter. Because Halloween food crafting would be *nothing* without my favorite little candy eyeballs.
What You Need to Make Frankenstein Pudding Pops:
- (1) 5.9 oz. Box of Chocolate Pudding
- (1) 5.9 oz. Box of Vanilla Pudding
- Green Food Coloring
- 5-9oz. paper cups
- Candy Eyeballs
- Lollipop or Wooden Sticks
How to Make these Easy Pudding Pop Frankenstein Treats:
Step 1: Mix Pudding
Mix pudding according to instructions on package. Add a few drops of green food coloring to the vanilla bowl, until desired shade is achieved.
Step 2: Fill Cups
Scoop about ½ cup of vanilla/green pudding into the bottom of 8 cups. Before scooping the chocolate pudding, reserve ¼ cup aside to later use for decorating the mouth. Then scoop about ¼ cup of chocolate pudding onto the top of each cup. The goal is to have a ratio of ⅔ of green pudding and ⅓ of chocolate pudding.
Step 3: Insert Lollipop Stick & Freeze
Insert a lollipop stick into the center of each one and place cups on baking sheet for easy transport to the freezer. Freeze for about 5 hours, or until firm.
Step 4: Peel off Paper Cups
Once completely frozen, peel off paper cups.
Step 5: Pipe on Mouth & Add Eyeballs
Place the ¼ cup of reserved chocolate pudding in a piping bag (or plastic bag with tip cut off) and pipe on the stitched mouth. To place eyeballs, pipe a small dot of pudding onto the back of each one and press on.
Serve immediately or place in freezer for 10-15 minutes for the eyeballs and mouth to freeze.
Aren't they cute? These little Frankenstein treats take less than 15 minutes to whip up and are a fun activity to get the kids involved in. A fun no-bake Halloween treat that is nice & sweet without all the scary.
