Fun Occasions to Use These Birthday Treat Bags

  • Use these favor bags for any occasion including birthday parties, graduation parties, bridal showers, or baby showers.
  • Skip the gift box, party bags make great gift bags for small presents paired with matching happy birthday tags!
  • Printable gift bags make a great impromptu DIY gift for any occasion when filled with treats.

What You Need to Make Party Bags for Kids

To make these favor bags, you’ll need white cardstock, scissors, an exacto knife (to score the edges), double-sided tape, and the gift bag template. I’ve included instructions and cutting guides on the download, so you know exactly where to cut, score, and fold.

Materials

Baker's Twine
Double-Sided Tape
Exacto Craft Knife

White Cardstock

How to Make Printable Party Favor Bags:

Step 1: Print

Download the printable gift bag PDF and print on 8.5 x 11″ white cardstock (I use Neenah 65# Bright White).

Step 2: Assemble

Use scissors or a die-cutting machine to cut along the edges then use an exacto knife to score the fold lines. Apply strong double-sided adhesive to the flaps where indicated on the PDF, then adhere it closed. To make it look more like a gift bag, pinch in the sides, punch holes at the top of the bag, then add string.

Step 3: Fill, Embellish, and Gift!

Fill with your favorite treats or party bag fillers, then tie it closed with a bow with some cute baker’s twine. Or, fold the top down and staple the bag shut (or use matching washi tape!). Finish off with some matching happy birthday tags, then gift away!

Frequently Asked Questions:

How to Use Party Bags:

Use the printable goody bags for birthday parties or any celebration. They also work well for small gifts or filled with popcorn, candy, and other yummy treats.

What size are the gift bags?

These boxes measure about 2.75 x 5.5 x 1.25” inches when assembled.

What ages are the party bags for?

These sprinkle party bags are great for any age!

What paper weight is best for these?

I used  65lb. white cardstock. You definitely want something thicker than normal computer paper, otherwise, these will not hold the candy inside.

What should I fill these treat boxes with?

Need some birthday party goodie bag ideas? Popular goodie bag items include candy, popcorn, small Dollar Store toys, pencils/crayons/markers or small trinkets and other items typically handed out as party favors.
