Whip up these Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes with simple ingredients and these easy decorating tips!

Mint chip green Halloween milkshakes decorated like Frankenstein with chocolate drip rim and striped black paper straws

If you’re looking for a no-bake Halloween treat idea this year, then look no further than these Frankenstein Milkshakes! Made with mint chip ice cream and a drip-cake effect on the rim, you can truly whip these up in minutes with things you have at home.

Ingredients for Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes

  • Mint Chip Ice Cream
  • Milk
  • Dark Chocolate
  • Green Food Coloring
  • Clear Plastic or Glass Cups
  • Black Permanent Marker

Ingredients to make Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes. Mint chip ice cream scoop, dark chocolate wafers, blue measuring cup of milk, frankenstein milkshake.

How to Make these Easy Frankenstein Halloween Milkshakes:

Step 1: Melt Chocolate

Melt chocolate on 50% power in the microwave and stir until smooth. I like using these dark chocolate wafers, as they melt easily and re-harden quickly. You could also use chocolate chips or chocolate fudge for a similar effect.

Step 2: Pipe Chocolate on Cups

Spoon melted chocolate in a plastic bag and snip off one corner. Pipe chocolate along the edge of the cup, applying more pressure in some areas to create the dripping effect.

Step 3: Draw Face

After chocolate hardens, use a permanent black marker (aka. Sharpie) to draw on the eyes and mouth. (I recommend doing this after you apply the chocolate, or else the chocolate may drip into the Sharpie.) The great thing about using Sharpies on glass is that you can easily remove it by drawing back over the markings with a dry erase marker. It’s a trick I learned a long time ago from who-knows-where and works on tons of surfaces (so if your kids draw on the window or counter, give it a try!)

Step 4: Blend Milkshake

After the cups are ready, simply blend up the milkshakes by placing the mint chip ice cream, milk, and a few drops of green food coloring into a blender. These would also be fun to make with lime sherbet or you could also color/flavor white ice cream and add in Oreos or other mix-ins.
